A brown bear catches a salmon at Mount Kukak in Katmai National Park, Alaska. During the summer the brown bears of Alaska have just a few months to build up enough body fat to survive the harsh winter. They must catch at least ten salmon a day to survive. In September the salmon run in this part of Alaska reaches its peak, and the fish become so frequent that the bears can afford to sit lazily and wait for their dinner to come to them. Top-class nature photographer, Jon Cornforth, 39 from Seattle, USA travelled to Katmai wildlife reserve to photograph the feeding bears.
